Application of Fast SAS Macros for Balancing Samples to the Selection of Addresses

Abstract

This article introduces the method of balanced sampling and explains how to apply it to the selection ofaddresses in the context of the French census. SAS macros which perform the analysis are presented. Theexposition is accessible to readers with at least an intermediate statistics level. Prior exposure to sampling ideasis useful but not strictly necessary.
